Gamerpedia:About

Gamerpedia is a wiki about all things video games, so think about it as like Wikipedia but from the perspective of video games. The wiki has no content license, so people are allowed to freely use of the material on the site without any attribution requirements. The wiki is partly based on Conservapedia, which also lacks any content license. With that said, please note that the wiki is not focused on politics, and any real-life video game politics or in-game politics covered here should be based on objective proof over political biases.

The site was founded by Gstar on June 13, 2025. Following several internal discussions about GFDL and CC-BY-SA licenses and the risks to using them, Gstar wanted to create a site without any content license, not to mention how many times others have copied from Wikipedia and other sources without attribution.

Even without a content license, keep in mind that Gamerpedia reuses images under fair use guidelines, including from other wikis. For user-generated screenshots, we will do our best to credit the original uploader, website, and even provide a rationale for why the images are being used here.

To acknowledge the wiki's the license-free sentiment, Gstar decided to use a game controller image from the public domain while creating the logo, with the Bahaus '93 font for "Gamerpedia."

The wiki uses the ".me" top-level domain, not only because Gstar had few URLs to choose from, but also because "me" could refer to how lots of the content is authored by us, not counting material reused from other free resources without any licensing requirements.
