Parameters

The first parameter (|1=) provides what type of page is being marked for deletion. Default output: "article"

The second parameter (|2=) is to provide a reason why the page has been marked for deletion. Default output: "Vandalism"

Both parameters are numerical, so adding them and an equal sign after a pipe character (|) in the template is optional.
