Bulbasaur (フシギダネ, Fushigidane) is a small, green dinosaur from the Pokémon franchise. It has been around since Generation I. Bulbasaur has a distinct bulb on its back. It is listed as the first Pokémon in the National Pokédex order. It is the Grass-type first partner Pokémon of Pokémon Red Version and Pokémon Blue Version as well as its remakes, Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version.
Bulbasaur evolves into Ivysaur at level 16 then into Venusaur at level 32.
Bulbasaur's name is derived from the words "bulb" (due to the bulb on its back) and "dinosaur".
