Donkey Kong

Donkey Kong is a primate character from the Donkey Kong and Mario franchises. He is a creation of Rare. Donkey Kong made his first appearance in the 1994 game Donkey Kong Country. Aside from being a character, Donkey Kong is the name of a title previously held by Cranky Kong, who debuted in the 1981 arcade game Donkey Kong, but since Donkey Kong Country, Rare reimagined him as an elderly member of the Kong Family named Cranky Kong. Since then, out of the two, Donkey Kong has made the most recurring appearances, both in Donkey Kong and Mario games alike.
