Princess Zelda is a fictional princess and the namesake character of the The Legend of Zelda franchise, even though Link is the actual main protagonist. Zelda has appeared in nearly every The Legend of Zelda game to date, starting with the first game of the same title. Sometimes she goes on adventures with Link, but other times has the role of damsel-in-distress, similar to Princess Peach of the Mario franchise.
