Super Smash Bros. (series)
Super Smash Bros. is a series of fighting games created by Masahiro Sakurai, formerly of HAL Laboratory and also the creator of the Kirby series. It stars iconic Nintendo characters from various franchises, such as Mario from the Mario series and Link from the The Legend of Zelda series, fighting one another. The first installment was Super Smash Bros., released for the Nintendo 64 in 1999, and the latest installment is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, released for the Nintendo Switch in 2018.

ESRB ratings
The first installment, Super Smash Bros., was given an ESRB rating of Everyone (E), and is the only game of the series to have received that rating. However, the second and third entries, Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl respectively, were given a Teen (T) rating. Since Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, the ratings for later Super Smash Bros. installments have received a slightly lower rating of E10+.
