Animal Crossing: New Horizons (shortened to ACNH and NH) is a simulation game released on the Nintendo Switch on March 20, 2020. It is the fifth main entry of the Animal Crossing series (sixth in Japan). Animal Crossing: New Horizons was very successful. It is one of the best-selling games on the Nintendo Switch, having sold over 47 million copies, and falls behind only Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Animal Crossing: New Horizons released around the very start of the COVID-19 pandemic and helped several gamers through that era.
